Art in Romney Marsh 2011

weekends of 17th/18th and 24th/25th of September, 1st/2nd and 8th/9th of October, 1-5pm

art in romney marsh 2011 returns for a fifth year. It is a contemporary arts project providing an opportunity for artists to create site specific work in response to the inspiring medieval churches of Romney Marsh. Romney Marsh is located in a unique landscape on the south east tip of the Kent coastline, within easy reach of Ashford, Rye and Hastings. The juxtaposition of contemporary art and the ancient church sites creates an opportunity for an exciting dialogue between the ancient and modern.
Curators include Jonathan Wright, Andrew Kötting and Angela Kingston and there will also be live music from Bela Emerson, North Sea Radio Orchestra and John Blood.

This year, work will be shown in and around five selected churches. For more information email us or join us on Facebook.
