Looking Back: COASTAL CURRENTS 2011

Coastal Currents invited artists from UK and beyond to showcase a series of events, artists’ interventions, exhibitions and community projects that challenge, engage and inspire their audience.

In 2011 the festival aimed to highlight key locations, histories and new cultural developments around the creative and resilient towns of Hastings & St Leonards.

In its 12th year Coastal Currents provided an exciting platform for artists, residents and visitors to explore and celebrate the towns’ thriving creative communities.

Coastal Currents opened on Saturday 27 August with Spotlight a bold launch event encompassing a wide-range of performances, interventions, projections, interactive events and an illuminated procession leading from the Stade Open Space.
